GEMaC welcomes two new colleagues!

We would like to welcome two new GEMaC members hired by UVSQ, Jean-Michel Chauveau (Professor) and Sébastien Colinot (Assistant Engineer).

Jean-Michel Chauveau

After a PhD in Ma Jean-Michel Chauveau terials Science focused on semiconductor materials at the University of Lille, Jean-Michel Chauveau spent several years at Paul Drude Institute in Berlin where he studied semiconductor nanostructures by transmission electron microscopy. He joined the University of Nice Cote d'Azur in 2005, at CRHEA laboratory. There he developed an activity of growth and characterization of non- and semi-polar semiconductor oxides for electronics and optoelectronics. These materials open new perspectives in the field of future optoelectronic components.
At GEMaC he will investigate the structural properties of materials at the nanometer scale by transmission electron microscopy and their influence on optical and transport properties of materials.

Sébastien Colinot

Sébastien Colinot began his career in a company specializing in elevator refurbishment, where he learned how to shape decorative elements from different materials, using various manufacturing processes. Then Sébastien was appointed to lʼEcole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers, where he perfected his previously acquired skills in machining techniques and enhanced them with new knowledge, particularly in metrology and material resistance, in order to better understand the behavior and "personality" of metal alloys.
He had the opportunity to put his experience and know-how at the service of science at Kastler Brossel Laboratory. There he produced components for research equipment, whose complexity, fragility or precision specifications required great technical skills, meticulousness and creative approach.
All these experiences have allowed Sébastien to meet great people with whom he has enjoyed discussing, sharing and learning, both in his field of expertise and in other fields.
Sébastien is happy to pursue the adventure at GEMaC and to join his new team and continue to work in the spirit of sharing.
